Suppose an ad promises an equipment selection checklist and sends visitors to a company overview. Follow the ad on a representative device and record the promise, the first screen, the call to action, and the form response.
Locate the drop-off
Separate visits, inquiry clicks, form starts, successful submissions, and qualified leads. Compare the stages for the same visitor cohort. If users start the form and abandon it, test required fields, error messages, and whether input survives a failed submission. If submissions succeed but sales cannot find them, inspect the lead handoff.
Deliver the promise on the first screen
Describe what the selection checklist covers and what the visitor receives. Compare how competitors explain compatibility and deliverables to identify missing decision information. Use Frontend Design to organize the first screen and Webapp Testing to exercise the mobile submission path.
Test one change
Keep ad traffic and form fields stable while comparing the first-screen promise. Define the primary metric, test window, and qualified-lead rule before launching the test. If the sample is small, report the observation and sample size and continue gathering evidence.
