Technical visuals should explain a system before decorating a page. This guide uses a fictional mobile-library reservation service for business-plan architecture, document-to-deck conversion, and knowledge mapping. Architecture explains elements and relationships, slides support a decision, and mind maps organize questions and evidence. They can reference one another but do not replace one another or guarantee funding.
Begin with audience and verified facts
Decide whether the discussion concerns reader booking, staff scheduling, offline vehicle synchronization, or data retention and access. List implemented behavior, planned design, and unknowns with sources and versions. Verify components against approved code, interfaces, or design records rather than filling in a familiar technology stack.
We searched GitHub for open-source options and consulted Structurizr's models-as-code approach: multiple architecture views from one model can improve consistency. Adoption still requires DSL learning, current-version checks, licensing, dependencies, export requirements, and local or cloud data boundaries. No tool was installed or private design uploaded for this article.
Scenario one: create reviewable architecture and data flow
Start with system context: readers, staff, the reservation service, and necessary external systems, with boundaries. Expand to containers or components only as the question requires. Avoid mixing deployment nodes, code modules, and user roles at one abstraction level. Give every box a responsibility and every arrow a direction and meaning. An unlabeled connection leaves requests, events, and data ambiguous.
Data flow adds origin, processing, storage, and destinations. A booking passes identity and business-rule checks, is stored, and then triggers notification. Notification failure must not imply the booking necessarily failed. Explain offline queues, duplicate requests, and conflicts separately. Access boundaries and sensitive fields should reflect the design, while the diagram itself does not implement those controls.
Distinguish implemented, planned, and unverified elements with a legend. Do not make future components look operational. Technical advantage requires performance, reliability, or cost evidence, not a complicated drawing. Market and growth charts also need provenance, dates, units, and assumptions rather than invented pitch numbers.
Review semantics before appearance. Walk one reservation request with a maintainer, correcting missing steps and arrows, then refine alignment, space, color, and typography. Retain the model or editable source alongside exported images. HTML, PNG, JPEG, and WebP have different uses; a raster image does not automatically become editable architecture objects. Confirm export behavior in the actual tool version.
Scenario two: convert a proposal into a presentation
Extract a decision narrative before converting Word or Markdown. The mobile-library story might cover the current problem, user journey, system boundary, key flow, offline risks, validation, and next action. Mark facts, assumptions, and proposals, retaining conditions that affect judgment. Do not compress every paragraph into a slide or delete caveats simply to fit a template.
Draft each page's purpose, headline conclusion, evidence, visual, and speaker detail. Split overloaded content or move detail to an appendix instead of shrinking text. Map tables, code, footnotes, and images explicitly. Uploading a document does not establish that every element survives. Missing inputs remain unresolved rather than becoming fabricated completed work.
For an external slide API, confirm approved document content, destination, account, cost, and output storage. Record the generation identifier and inspect status before repeating an unknown result. A timeout should not cause duplicate paid generation. After download, check pages, complete content, and editability. Screenshot-style slides must not be described as fully editable objects.
Review every page for titles, values, legends, fonts, overflow, tables, links, and narrative. Projection and reading copies may need different density; keep notes or an appendix. Ensure architecture labels and arrows remain legible after export, splitting overview and detail if necessary. A successfully generated PPT is an intermediate artifact, not an accepted presentation.
Use a matching Skill for static visual exploration
Canvas Design fits original static visual direction and PDF/PNG pilots, such as palette, hierarchy, and spacing references. Its public SkillPI detail, pinned Anthropic source, and Apache-2.0 license record were checked. It needs file creation, visual inspection, dimensions, intended use, and approved assets, with font/resource licenses reviewed.
Place it at visual exploration rather than architecture verification, complete editable PPTX generation, or investment judgment. A design method does not prove implementation. Do not invent SkillPI links for the source topic's diagram and slide generators when matching records cannot be verified.
Scenario three: map questions and knowledge
Organize the topic into users, flows, data, constraints, risks, evidence, and decisions, keeping provenance or unresolved status. Offline synchronization can branch into queues, conflicts, retries, access, and recovery, linked to design records. Hierarchy represents organization, not automatically causation or dependency; mark cross-branch relationships separately.
Review extracted structure for conclusions mistaken as topics, missing counterexamples, merged homonyms, and repeated branches. Conflicting sources should not be forced into agreement for a neat map. Use short node labels with detail in notes or links. Preserve unknowns instead of dropping them because the canvas is crowded.
Keep a text tree or editable source as well as a preview. JPG may be shareable but does not preserve structural editability. Choose a readable format and size for dense labels. Reverse-check the map: which important requirements reached the proposal, and which branches still need evidence? It organizes thought without replacing architecture, scheduling, or formal requirements acceptance.
Practical request and fault diagnosis
A bounded request is: “Use only the approved mobile-library proposal. Produce a context relationship table, booking data flow, and unknowns before drawing. Draft a presentation outline within the agreed page budget and a separate knowledge tree. Add no unimplemented services or unsupported metrics.” A page budget is a design constraint; report conflicts rather than silently truncate content.
For crowded diagrams, reduce scope and abstraction mixing before adding colors. For missing slide text, inspect source-to-page mapping. For broken glyphs, check actual fonts and rendering. For wrong data flow, return to interface evidence. For confused branches, redefine classification. Retain versions and reasons, reviewing linked pages after material changes.
Deliver facts and assumptions, relationship tables, editable models, legends, exports, page outlines, slides, a knowledge tree, and acceptance notes. Open files, check links, completeness, and version consistency. Separate source review from execution evidence. No architecture or presentation artifact was generated or published for the reader.
FAQ and maintenance
Can Word become a deck directly? Tools may convert it, but narrative, facts, and layout still require review. Do professional visuals guarantee an investor response? No; visuals should support evidence and decisions. Are Skills safe? Check pinned provenance, license, scripts, data destinations, and actual evidence rather than a blanket review claim.
When new tools appear, verify purpose, prerequisites, and deliverables before changing a step's association, retaining rationale and rollback. An image tool is not a model-maintenance tool, and a diagram keyword alone is insufficient.
Sources
This original mobile-library example covers the bilingual sources' proposal architecture, document-to-deck, and knowledge-map scenarios without adopting testimonials, install counts, or speed guarantees. Modeling refers to the Structurizr repository; static design uses the linked Canvas Design's pinned record. Verify current export and API prerequisites before adoption.
