Suppose you are reviewing evaluation methods for retrieval-augmented answers in internal knowledge bases. Define the question around answer accuracy and traceable citations. Save the query, date, and results for each search. Group repeated preprints by identifier and version.
Screen for scope
Read the abstract, task definition, and dataset. Record why each candidate is included or excluded. Set aside open-domain benchmarks without citation evidence. Keep borderline examples so a reviewer can check whether the screening rule is too narrow.
Verify claims against the paper
For each included paper, record its version, task, baseline, metric, findings, and limits. Point each claim to a page, figure, or section. A higher score needs its dataset, comparator, and metric. Mark claims that you have only seen in the abstract.
Preserve the next question
Use Notion Research Documentation to organize sources and evidence cards. Flag missing settings and data. In the next search, prioritize the gaps that could change the conclusion and keep incompatible experimental conditions separate.
