Diagnose rework before choosing a transformation
A local theatre studio adapts production information into ticketing copy, a long article and a short video explanation. Its existing flow copies fields, calls a model and proposes publication dates. When an actor changes or a performance is cancelled, old facts can survive across ten drafts. This can be a contract, revision or approval problem, not an inherent defect of a workflow canvas. This example designs a migration without connecting ticketing accounts, publishing or starting a continuous service.
The source covers pain-point diagnosis, Skill modularization and natural-language orchestration, with feedback-driven evolution. Preserve those scenarios without assuming visual workflows can express only linear logic or that one decomposition enables costless reuse forever. Workflows can include conditions, loops and dynamic steps. Skills organize methods; they do not automatically transfer connectors, credentials and execution state.
Scenario one: trace where one error entered the path
Use the most recent cast-change incident as a diagnostic fixture. Preserve source revision, model input, draft output, review and schedule item. If the updated fact never reached the model, investigate retrieval or caching. If input was correct but output used the previous actor, inspect generation and context. If an approved draft was overwritten, inspect revisions and writes. “Use a smarter agent” is not a single repair for all three.
Map topic selection, fact extraction, writing, formatting, approval and publication. For every step identify inputs, outputs, owner, failure marker and elapsed work. Collect actual waiting and rework rather than a model's predicted efficiency gain. Separate fixed rules, judgment and external effects, then decide what to retain, repair or pilot for migration.
The first intervention may simply propagate the fact revision correctly while preserving scheduling and saves. If fixed formats fail, clarify fields and errors first. If narrative choices genuinely vary with material, consider a dynamic method for that portion. Deliver diagnostic evidence, a causal hypothesis, the smallest useful change and acceptance cases rather than a shopping list of tools.
Scenario two: modularize stable responsibilities
Do not turn every click into a separate Skill. Define responsibilities with artifacts, such as checking production facts, drafting for a channel and reviewing cross-draft consistency. Cast, dates, prices and cancellation policy come from an approved packet. Voice may vary; facts do not become creative choices during drafting. New-source research is a separately stated responsibility rather than an invisible part of polishing prose.
Specify an input schema with production_id, fact revision, target channel, asset location and constraints. Return a draft, fact mapping, open questions and completion state. An unknown ticket price cannot become a definite offer. A cancelled performance must not retain a purchase call to action. Stop conditions matter as much as the happy path, and an awaiting-review file is not publish-ready output.
Keep applicability and method in the main instructions, longer rules in references and handoff format in templates. Scripts need explicit dependencies and read-write scope. Personal actor information and temporary credentials do not belong in a shared package. Format validity is not reliability: test ordinary productions, conflicting dates, missing fields, cancellations and unrelated requests for both triggering and output behavior.
Across hosts, check discovery locations, tool calls, scripting languages and resource references separately. The same directory structure cannot establish identical execution. Scheduling, APIs and idempotent writes owned by the original system need explicit handoff. Turning a method into prose does not migrate its operating facilities.
Scenario three: give natural-language tasks explicit state
A request can say: “Use production facts v6 for ticketing and narration drafts. Map every claim to evidence, list unknowns and save drafts only; publish nothing.” The coordinator obtains current facts, assigns independent drafting where appropriate and performs consistency review. One agent can work sequentially. Parallel agents require an authorized environment, separate artifacts and a join condition; they are not obligatory.
Store run_id, current step, artifact revision and approval state. On recovery, inspect actual files and completed effects rather than relying only on conversation memory. Bound read retries. After a save or publication timeout, verify the outcome before repeating. Avoid simultaneous edits to one master draft; apply review through a clear revision process so old outputs cannot overwrite new facts.
If each channel becomes a separate method, share the fact interface and foundational rules or ten outputs may become ten drifting policies. One common fact module plus a few adaptation references may be easier to maintain. Decide granularity from experiments and maintenance needs. One input producing ten drafts is a batch shape, not evidence that ten drafts are correct or ready to publish.
Govern feedback-driven changes with evidence and rollback
Capture a concrete issue, such as a purchase prompt remaining after cancellation, with input, output, rule revision and human judgment. Form a causal hypothesis before proposing a patch. A low-view post alone does not justify automatically rewriting every strategy. Topic, timing, distribution and sample size can all affect views; those observations are not a direct test of a writing rule.
Evaluate whether the method activates on appropriate tasks separately from whether its outputs pass. GitHub's Agent Skills description-optimization guidance offers relevant and irrelevant examples and held-out checks as a reference. More triggering is not automatically better. After examples guide a revision, use fresh requests that did not shape it to avoid learning only the original phrasing.
For output, inspect hard conditions first: factual consistency, no invented claims, visible unknowns and correct cancellation behavior. Then compare voice and structure. Put old and new pass/fail findings, usage and human edits side by side. Do not promote an inconclusive or regressing candidate. Changes need a version, owner, evidence and rollback point. Continuous execution does not establish continuous improvement.
Pilot one complete migration without duplicate publication
Run the new method in shadow on authorized fictional production material. Keep the old system as the only real publication route. Compare cast, dates, channel format and open questions from identical inputs. Inject a cast replacement and cancellation, checking that affected drafts use the new revision while other approved information stays traceable.
The acceptance report lists input scope, artifacts, case outcomes and uncovered behavior. Decide which step can switch only after reaching the stated threshold. Do not delete the old workflow first. Preserve configuration and recovery instructions, with an owner for shared guidance. Compare model calls, tools, review, failed reruns and maintenance rather than only the first generation's elapsed time.
Verify associations and prerequisites
This article has not established matching SkillPI pinned-source and purpose evidence for the source's six cards, which also include repeated names. It adds no inferred links. A future candidate should be reviewed separately for diagnosis, modularization or orchestration, checking SKILL.md, license, dependencies and actual access before assigning a precise step. “Universal,” “proactive” and “self-evolving” titles are not capability evidence.
Discovery assistance cannot validate the data interface or migration outcome. Before adopting any package, check host support, file scope, network destinations and cost, then accept one recoverable sample. Uninstalling cannot withdraw published material or external writes. No framework or bundled script was installed or executed for this article; its tests remain proposed acceptance designs.
Troubleshooting and frequently asked questions
Why do old and new drafts conflict? Separate shadow drafts from publication authority and bind the exact revision at the single publishing route. Why does a channel-policy change require editing ten packages? Identify duplicated common rules and consolidate where appropriate. What if activation works but output fails? Inspect input and execution instead of blindly expanding the description. What if nothing activates? First confirm host discovery and actual scope, then adjust applicability.
Must workflows be abandoned? No. Preserve stable scheduling and writes, placing method packages at judgment steps. Does natural language remove logic? Dependencies, conditions and recovery still need definition. Can ten daily posts be promised at lower cost? No; quality, model use, retries and review require comparison. Who decides an improvement is ready? An accountable owner reviews evidence; automatic proposals are not automatically authorized releases.
